UML, Congress urge UCPN- maoist to accept people's

Kathmandu, Nov. 21- Chairman of the CPN (UML), Jhala Nath Khanal, has urged the Unified CPN (Maoist) to withdraw its decision to boycott vote count process and not to participate in the CA election.
UML Chairman termed the UCPN (Maoist) decision as a decision of ‘panicked mentality’.Issuing a press statement here today, Khanal said the Nepali people’s participation was encouraging except for few incidents across the country and urged the UCPN (Maoist) to withdraw the decision of rejecting the election that concluded with encouraging participation of people, and join the constitution writing process.
Similarly, former Prime Minister and Senior Leader of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, urged the UCPN (Maoist) to accept the rule of the game.
Deuba said people’s mandate was the ultimate power in the democratic process, adding that if there was the disagreement in the process the UCPN (Maoist) should find solution to it in the constitutional way. NC leader Deuba expressed his sadness that the UCPN (Maoist) ran away from the democratic process instead of accepting the election result.
Former Prime Minister Deuba said his party, Nepali Congress was committed to drafting a democratic constitution by honoring the people’s mandateLikewise, Nepali Congress Vice-president, Ram Chandra Paudel, organized a press conference at the NC Party Headquarters at Sanepa in Lalitpur, and said that it was necessary to take the CA result as an opportunity rather than the ground of victory or defeat.
Vice-president Paudel said the Unified CPN (Maoist) should withdraw its decision to boycott vote count process and not to participate in the CA terming the UCPN (Maoist)’s sudden decision to boycott the vote count process as a decision in ‘panic’.
Paudel said the UCPN (Maoist)’s undemocratic character has been exposed once again as the party refused to accept the public mandate instead of shouldering the responsibility as given to the UCPN (Maoist).
Paudel said his party, Nepali Congress, was committed to carrying out the constitution writing process as suggested by the people through votes.
