International Skiing Competition to be held in Mustang


KATHMANDU, Jan 10: With a view to promote the country’s mountain tourism an international skiing competition is to be held in Muktinath area of Mustang late this year.

This competition is believed to help in promote and draw attention of various nooks of the world towards the Himalayas. It is the first time that the competition of this standard is being proposed in our mountainous terrain.

With The Himalayan Skiing Trek coordinating the event , international skier Krishna Thapa of Nepal will facilitate the competition.

Skiing trainings are being held in Muktinath, Gosaikundra and Dhaulagiri areas in the first week of January every year and this time over 60 youths including from Nepal attended such trainings, it is said.
