Hyundai Open Golf Tournament 2020, Singh wins trophy

Kathmandu 7th March/  SP of Nepal Police Ashoke Singh won the Hyundai Open Golf Tournament 2020 here at Gokarna Golf Club. Singh, 17 handicap amateur golfer carded 37 stableford points to win the title. The win got him a trophy and Garmin approach S 40 Premium GPS Golf Watch and Bushnell V4 Range finder.

Tashi Tshiring and Yam Gurung were tied at 36 points, Tshiring came second on the count back system after scoring 19 on the back nine against 14 of Gurung. Tshiring also bagged most birdies award after scoring six birdies. Gurung settled for second-runner-up  trophy.

Wangchen Dhondup scored 35 gross points to win the best gross title. Maj. Gen. Vijay Moktan was winner among senior golfers age 60 and above with 34 points count with TG Shrestha, Moktan scored 20 on the backnine against 19 of Shrestha. Ashray Basnyat got the junior winner with 13 points in nine holes. Kashmira Shah was winner among ladies with 33 points.

Rabindra Tiwari scored 32 points to win the category of Hyundai car winner’s category, Dr. Niranjan Sharma got closest to the pin, Prakash Gurung got the longest drive award. All the award winners got a trophy and Garmin approach S 40 premium GPS Golf Watch.

The tournament sponsored by Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., the sole authorized distributor Hyundai Cars in Nepal was participated by 129 golfers. The tournament was played under stableford format with 3/4 handicap.

South Korean Ambassador His Excellency Park Young Sik, Chairman of Laxmi Group Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha, GM of Hyundai Motors Company Asia Pacific Regional Headquarter JH Shoi, DGM Jiho Son and President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
