16th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament will be held from 23 January – 3 feburary at the Pokhara Stadium.According to The organizer Sahara club,the game will be held at the Pokhara Stadium on the coordination of Western Regional Sports Development Committee and District Sports Development Committee, Kaski.
General Secretary of Sahara club Vishwa Raj Baral said that All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has provided timetable for the tournament. Baral informed that a total of 12 teams , including 4 foreign clubs , will take part in the tournament . Departmental and A division clubs of Nepal along with 1-1 team from Western and Eastern Region and organizer Sahara club will join 4 foreign club in the tournament.
Keshav Bahadur Thapa, chairman of Club said that, “The savings from the tournament held with the intention to “Cooperate in the development of sports, establish Pokhara as a sports tourism city” is spending to provide food , shelther and education to needy chiidren. Currently, 28 children of 16 districts are dependent on this academy. The club has been taking care of them apart from providing them regular football training. Himshri Foods Pvt. Ltd. is the main sponsor of the competition.
