Kathmandu, Aug. 28: With the Constituent Assembly election coming nearer, the Nepali Congress has appealed to its well wishers and sympathizers across the country and abroad through internet for donation to the party for the CA election. The party began the fund raising campaign from Wednesday. It said the donation could be received through the internet too.
It was informed at a press meet organized at the party headquarters today. The fund raising committee coordinated by party President Sushil Koirala has seven members. The party has appealed to the concerned to donate in a transparent and credible manner.
Even an appeal was released by President Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel. The well wishers and donors can directly deposit the amount in bank or through remittance.
According to the party, the banks to deposit assistance are, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Investment Bank, and Gobal IME Bank, and Grand Bank. Similarly, there are ten remittance channels including Western Union, Money Gram and Himal Remit.
One can browse the party’s portal- www.nepalicongress.org, click an assistance link and fill up a form with necessary information for extending assistance. Similarly, those sending money through remittance can address to the party headquarters with clear name and address, said a technician Sushil Poudel.
At the press conference organized at the party headquarters, President Koirala said the donation should be received in a credible and transparent manner.
Treasurer Chitra Lekha Yadav urged the well wishers of the party from across the country and abroad to help party with open heart.
The members of fund raising committee of the party are senior leader Deuba, Vice-President Poudel, Treasurer Yadav, and central members Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Deep Kumar Upadhyay and Ram Krishna Tamrakar. RSS
