KATHMANDU, Feb 2: A writ petition was filed at the Supreme Court seeking its order to scrap the trade union rights for civil servants.

Advocates duo Ramraman Ghimire and Pashupatinath Banstola filed the petition on Thursday. The Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, and the Ministry of General Administration have been made defendants in the petition.

The petitioners have claimed that the trade union rights should be given only to the workers and labors of private companies, firms and industries.
