Dr Govinda Kc warns of another hunger strike if prior demands are not met

KATHMANDU: Senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC has said today that he would start his 16th hunger strike if the government did not address his prior demands by December 17.

Dr KC made this statement at a press meet organised in the capital today.

Putting forth a three-point demand, the senior doctor has drawn government’s attention to honour the agreement reached with him at the end of his last hunger strike, and implement his demands related to reforms in medical education sector.

In addition, Dr KC has demanded that action be taken against the culprit(s) involved in the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta. Likewise, the demand also states that case of criminal offence be lodged against persons involved in destroying the evidence, creating false evidence, torturing, open firing at people demanding justice, among others, in Nirmala’s case.
