KATHMANDU, March 16: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian President Ram Nath Kovind have congratulated Bidya Devi Bhandari on her reelection as president of Nepal.
According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in Kathmandu, President Xi congratulated President Bhandari on her assumption of the Office of the President of Nepal. In the congratulatory message, the President of the People’s Republic of China has said that China attaches great importance to the development of China-Nepal relations and expressed his readiness to work together to promote bilateral relationship.
Similarly, Indian President Kovind congratulated to his Nepali counterpart Bhandari and has expressed confidence that under her wise guidance, Nepal will move forward on the path of prosperity and all-round development.
President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid has also joined in congratulating President Bhandari on her reelection. In a message of congratulations, Hamid has reiterated the high importance that Bangladesh attaches to its relations with Nepal and expressed commitment to working closely for further strengthening relationship for the mutual benefit, according to a separate press statement issued by MoFA on Thursday.
President Bhandari was sworn in as President for the second time on Wednesday.
