Nepal draws with Bangladesh; qualifies for second round

Nov 13: Nepal has played draw match against Bangladesh in the third game of the Olympic Women Football’s Asian qualifier on Tuesday. In the match held at the Thunuwa stadium, Nepal and Bangladesh ended the match with a single goal each.

With this equalizer, Nepal has been qualified to the second round of Olympic qualifiers as one of the best 3rd placed teams of the group.

Though Nepal could not win the match, it was sufficient for the team to make through the best third-placed team with three points in overall scoreboard. Earlier, Nepal had played draw match with both India and Myanmar.

Philippines have also joined Nepal in the second round.

India and Myanmar have also secured their spot in the second round. They are playing later this evening to determine the group winner.

Due to groups having different number of teams after withdrawals, the results against the fourth-placed and fifth-placed teams in four-team and five-team groups are not considered for this ranking.
