Kathmandu – 07 December 2013 / Ang Dorjee Sherpa won Soaltee Crowne Plaza Annual Golf Tournament 2013 here at Gokarna Forest Resort. Playing of 20 handicap he was tied with Chinese Golfer Liu Jie at 41 stableford points. Ang Dorjee scored 20 points on the front nine and 21 points on the back nine where as Lie scored 23 on the front and 18 on the back. With the win, Ang Dorji received business class ticket to Doha (courtesy Oman Air) along with two nights stay at intercontinental Doha and two rounds of Golf at Doha Golf Club. Lie finished runner-up in the tournament playing with 14 handicap.
Lobsang Tashi won the Best Gross award with 33 gross points. Puspa Rai won the ladies category with 33 points and Rekha Ghimire finished second with 26 points.
Prem Sachdev won the senior category (age 60 & above) with 37 points, Tsultrim Lama was second in the senior category with 36 points. Min Bahadur Raut won the Super Senior category(age 70 & above) with 30 points. Pratima Gurung scored 19 points over 9 holes to win the junior category and Arnav Shah was winner amongst the sub juniors.
Babu Sherpa won the longest drive award and Ang Dorjee Sherpa won the closest to the pin. Total of 105 Golfers took part in the tournament including 6 juniors and 8 ladies. The tournament was played over 18 holes on a stableford format with 7/8 handicap allowance. All other winners received trophies and gift vouchers.
