14 CANDIDATES LOSS THEIR DEPOSIT AMOUNT IN RUKUM

Rukum. Nov. 26- The deposit amount of some 14 candidates of different nine political parties in two Constituencies in Rukum district has been confiscated.
The deposit amount is confiscated when a candidate fails to score at least 10 per cent of the total valid votes.  Most of the candidates except three major political parties, Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and UCPN (Maoist) could not return their deposit amount in the district.
The candidates of Rashtriya Janamorcha, Rashtriya Prajatantrik Party, Rashtriya Prajatantrik Party (Nepal), Nepal Labourers and Peasants Party, Mangol National Organization Party, Nepal Pariwar Dal, CPN (ML), Madheshi Janadhikar Forum Democratic and Federal Socialist Party were unable to return their deposit amount.
Ganesh Man Pun of UCPN (Maoist) was elected to the Constituent Assembly (CA) from Constituency No. 1 of the district with 18,598 votes. His nearest rival Krishna Bahadur Rokaya of the Nepali Congress obtained 6,173 votes while Khem Man Khadka of the CPN (UML) got 3,706 votes.
A total of 30,750 votes were cast in Constituency No. 1. Of them, 30,065 were valid.
Likewise, Janardan Sharma of UCPN (Maoist) was elected to the Constituent Assembly (CA) from the district Constituency No. 2. He received 22,575 votes. His nearest rival Gopal G Jung Shah of the Nepali Congress secured 9,976 votes while Thagendra Prasad Puri of the CPN (UML) got 6,118 votes.
A total of 40,672 votes were cast in the Constituency No. 2. Of them, 39531 were valid.
A total of 12 parties in Constituency No. 1 and 8 parties in Constituency No. 2 had filed their candidacy in the November 19 CA election.
