OKHALDHUNG, Nov 17/A person died on the spot while two others injured critically in a bus accident occurred at Kudunle of Thulachhap VDC in Okhaldhunga, Saturday. The bus was carrying the cadres and an election candidate of the UCPN-Maoist for a gathering at Nisankhe from district headquarters Okhaldhunga.
The helper to the driver Bikash Katwal died on the spot, said the District Police, adding that 23 others including party candidate Keshav Rai and central member Ram Karki were also injured in the accident. All of them have been undergoing treatment at a community hospital.
Among the injured, 11 including central leader Karki and candidate Rai are in a critical condition. Efforts are underway to airlift the injured to Kathmandu for further treatment. The bus (Na 2 Kha 2311) fell 150 meters down from the road.
