Rabindra Tiwari scored one-over 73 nett to win the 11th edition of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at Gokarna Golf Club. Prabhakar Adhikari carded three-over 75 to finish second. Purna Man Shakya claimed third place after scoring four-over 76 nett.
Vijay Shrestha Einhaus got the best gross with the score of seven-over 79. And Sam Doublard scored five-over 77 to win the junior title.
After the 11th edition of the competition, Dhurba Thapa leads the nett section of the club championship with 660 points, Tendi Sherpa is at 590 points. Jigmay Dongstetsang and Rabindra Tiwari at 460 points. Prabhakar Adhikari at 400 points. Purna Man Shakya has accumulated 380 points. Atma Ram Simkhada, Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, and Babu Sherpa are at 320 points.
On the gross section, Vijay Shrestha Einhaus leads the category with 265 points. Tendi Sherpa has scored 190 points, Prithivi Malla has 160 points. Among the juniors, Devasri Rana leads with 340 points. Sam Doublard is at 250 points and Mayank Dahal at 210 points.
Top 40 scorers of the nett category, top 10 scorers of the gross category and top 6 junior will compete for the club championship title in their own category, the last and final event to decided the champions will be held at the end of February.
Total of 29 players took part in the tournament today. The tournament is being sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners.The tournament was played under stroke play format with full handicap.
