Kathmandu 30 Sept: Tashi Ghale won Nepal China India Summit Golf Tournament here at Gokarna Golf Club. The event organized on the sidelines of Nepal China India Business Summit by Invest Nepal Pvt. Ltd. Tashi playing with one handicap with the help of six birdies, he scored 38 stableford points. He also claimed most birdies award. Tashi carded birdies on second, fifth, seventh, 10th, 12th and 16th holes, but faced bogeys on first, 15th and 17th holes and couldn’t earn any points on 11th hole.
Due to one player-one major prize rule, he couldn’t get the best gross award. Chandika Bhandari finish runner-up with 37 points on the count back system after being tied with Ang Norbu Sherpa. Bhandari scored 17 points on the front nine and 20 points on the back nine whereas Sherpa scored 20 on the front nine and 17 on the back nine. Ang Norbu received second runner-up trophy.
Bhairaja Pandey scored 35 points to win the senior(age 60 & above) trophy and Maj. Gen (retd) Mahesh Bikram Karki finished runner-up in Senior category with 31 points. Rekha Ghimire was ladies winner with 29 points. Aarti Rana got closest to the pin, and Capt. Norbu Sherpa bagged the longest drive award.
The tournament sponsored by Invest Nepal Pvt. Ltd. was participated by 33 golfers. The event was played under stableford format with 3/4 handicap. Chairman of Invest Nepal Pvt. Ltd. T.G.Shrestha, Managing Director Bhairaja Pandey, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire and President of CHIBIIC Ajay Singh gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
