World Tourism Day 2016 has been celebrated in the Annapurna Conversation Area Project (ACAP) yesterday.
Two tourists from Germany were welcomed at Birethanti by the team from NTNC-ACAP to mark the 37th World Tourism Day with tika offerings and a Dhaka topi along with a photo frame each as souvenir.
The formal opening of the exhibition program was conducted with a welcome speech by Ms. Jagan Suba Gurung (Sr. Gender Development Assistant of NTNC-ACAP). While the objective and significance of celebrating the occasion was highlighted by Ms. Rashmi Acharya (Tourism Officer, NTNC-ACAP), Mr. Bidur Bikram Kuinkel (Officer in charge at ACAP Ghandruk) briefed the event around the day’s program.
The celebrations finally concluded through a speech by Mr. Dil Bahadur Neupane (Chairperson of Tourism Management Sub committee, Birethanti).
During the occasion a flurry of excited tourists (making entry into as well as on the exit) befriended the exhibition that hosted a total of 32 photos of the Annapurna Region.
Thanks to Bikhyat Sherchan, Information Officer of ACAP for the information.
