Royal Thimpu beat Gokarna Golf Club

Kathmandu, 22 December / Royal Thimpu Golf Club defeated Gokarna Golf Club today at Nepal Bhutan Friendship Cup, a match played between the members of Royal Thimpu Golf Club (RTGC) and Gokarna Golf Club (GGC). RTGC accumulated 24 points against 15 of GGC. 
Total of 13 matches comprising 26 players (a team of two players) on each side played a match today at Gokarna Golf Club. The pairings were chosen by the captains of both the clubs and draw was made. RTGC won 8 matches and lost five matches. The match was played in a modified system taking the stableford points of each players. Total staleford point of the two players in the team made team total. A winning match received 3 points.

Kencho Wangmo produced best stabfleford score of the day (40 points) to receive the best individual score prize. Ang Norbu Sherpa won the longest drive award and Bhutan’s Dorji Norbu won the closest to the pin award. Gokarna President handed over the winning trophy to the Bhutanese team captain Karma Khorko, Dasho Tenzin Yonten and Club President Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes and souvenirs to the participants.

The event was played on the sidelines of Druk Air Open Golf tournament in which 26 Bhutanese players came to take part.
