Jigmay defends Druk Air Open

Kathmandu, 21 December /Jigmay Dongstetsang defended Druk Air Open Golf Tournament here at Gokarna Golf Club. Jigmay scored 40 stableford points to win the title. Gokarna Golf Club Amateur Golfer Jigme scored 21 points on the front nine and added 19 on the back nine. He received air ticket Kathmandu- Paro- Kathmandu, 3 nights hotel accommodation and 3 rounds of Golf for a couple.

Karma Lobsang From Bhutan was runner-up with 38 points. He received a trophy and a air ticket to Delhi and return.Tashi Ghale score 36 gross points to claim the best gross award and he received air ticket Kathmandu- Paro- Kathmandu, 3 nights hotel accommodation and 3 rounds of Golf for a couple.

Honorary Consul of Magoliya TG Shrestha won the best senior award with 33 points and he received air ticket Kathmandu- Paro- Kathmandu, 3 nights hotel accommodation and 3 rounds of Golf for a couple. Kencho Wangmo from Bhutan was declared ladies winner with 33 points. She received air ticket Paro- Kathmandu-Paro, 3 nights hotel accommodation and 3 rounds of Golf.
Rekha Ghimire was Ladies runner-up, she scored 23 points and received gift hamper.

Saroj Bastakoti made a hole in one on hole no 10 and got a special award. Jigme Lhendup bagged the longest drive award. Tshering Penjore got the closest to the pin and Capt Norbu Sherpa won the most birdies award with 4 birdies on the count back.
Total of 99 Golfers including 25 Golfers from Bhutan took part in the annual tournament. The tournament was played under stablford format with 3/4 handicap.

CEO of Druk Air Tandin Jamso, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire and Managing Director of Danfe Travels (GSA of Druk Air in Nepal) Pavitra Karki gave away the prizes to the winners.
